cakes for the occasion. Please let us know if you can help.
Tuesday 6th October, 6.30pm, Blue Moon Cafe: Social event at Blue Moon for
the new freshers! Come along for a chat and some cake.
24th October, Time TBC, Broomhall Centre- Film showing of Earthlings: If
you haven't seen this film yet you really should! One of the most thought
provoking documentaries ever made and hailed as the most important animal
rights film, Earthlings is a an eye-opening documentary that brings to
light the often disguised connection between consumer habits and the plight
of animals that feeds capitalist society's gargantuan appetite for goods
and services. You'll never be able to look at non-human Earth dwellers in
the same way after watching Earthlings. Please come along to show your
support and spread the word. If you are available to distribute some
fliers, for example at health food shops or at the universities, or are
available to contribute some food for the event then please let us know!
25th October, Time TBC, Broomhall Centre- Northern Animal Rights Coalition
Meeting: Sheffield will be hosting the next NARC meeting. Please come along
to show your support. Again, contributions of food would be greatly
appreciated! narcampaigns.wordpress.com/
5th December, Time TBC, Quaker Meeting House- Vegan Food Fayre: Due to the
success of the last food fayre, SAF will be organising a second free food
fayre. The organising of such an event is extremely complex and the more
helpers there are, the better. Here is a list of jobs that need doing. If
you can do any, please let us know! Write thew date in your diaries to
remember!
* Phoning companies to ask for donations of food (list can be supplied)
* Making food * Making recipe cards/ booklet * Sorting out the
leaflet/poster * Fliering * Contacting the media *
Volunteering on the day (washing up, dishing out etc.) * Sorting out
the raffle * Decoration the hall in a christmassy theme
Again, we cannot stress the importance of letting us know if you can take
part in any of the above actions. We are struggling for support at the
moment so even if you have a spare hour then it is not too little!
Strength in numbers,
SAF
