Yet again we see places of worship using lethal controls in an effort to
deter pigeons. Although the Harris Hawk may not catch a fit and healthy
adult pigeon, what about the young and flightless birds that can't get
away? What about when the bird of prey isn't there? Are the pigeons still
deterred? How are any baby pigeons being fed when their parents are being
chased away by the hawk?
If the pest control company installed adequate proofing, why is there a
need to employ them to fly a bird of prey as well? How do the parishioners
feel about birds being eaten alive on their church site? How many hundreds
of pounds is the church wasting on this cruelty?
