Hello everyone,

We had a mini-meeting about the food fair on Monday night. There’s still lots to organise so please get in touch if you can help out. We need people to help out with a number of jobs on the day, people to bring food along and people to lend items to be used at the event.

On the day we will need people to: Prepare drinks Wash up Act as servers Help set up from 9am Help clear up from 3pm-5pm To be leafletters, and/or to wear a sandwich board for a time from 10.30am

Quite a few large companies haven’t been able to donate any food for the food fair this year, after citing the economic crunch effecting how much they can send out at the moment.

So, it would be really great if people could help by making dishes for the day!!

If you have any ideas please email us first to make sure that we don’t all make the same thing! There will only be room for a few hot dishes and the rest will need to be cold. If you do make a dish it would be really great if you could write out the recipe and get it printed/photocopied so people can help themselves on the day. At the very least we will need to know if dishes contain any allergens such as nuts, for example. Just bring these along to the fair with the food or email it to SAF in advance! Also let us know if you need someone to pick up your dish and take it to the fair if you cannot attend or have transport difficulties.

Suggestions: salads, finger foods such as pizza, vol aux vents & pies, flans and quiches, sweet treats and cakes, xmassy foods such as mince pies, dips and things to dip into them etc, etc. Use your imagination!!

There are also number of things we need for the venue such as serving dishes, xmas decorations, xmassy tablecloths and tea towels. (The venue does have cutlery and plates) If you can help with any of these things please let us know as soon as possible before we trek around charity shops/pound shops looking for them! We are also planning to have a raffle, so if you could donate any prizes that would be amazing (books/vouchers/vegan smellies/vegan grub & booze/offers of free services?!/what ever you can think of that someone may like!!).
